Harder and harder to remove, these materials require dedicated chemistries for removal. When set-up or hardened, latex detergents must be prepared to deliver smaller molecules, with higher kauri-butanol value, and strong saponification characteristics so as to re-solubilize these waterborne emulsions. Hot Vat solutions prepared with John-Henry EMULSI-FIRE SB and CROSSLINK booster, will provide the cleaning power needed for latex removal.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Emulsi-Fire SB is an activating additive for alkaline solutions used to clean and strip dried latex and resins from road tankers, tank containers, and IBC’s. Emulsi-Fire SB is a blend of detergents, chelates, and dispersants that greatly boost the performance of highly alkaline solutions. Using Emulsi-Fire SB in conjunction with Crosslink is particularly effective for removing dried latex and resins as this solution penetrates and dissolves the polymers rather than just removing it in sheets. At elevated temperatures, Emulsi-Fire SB is low foaming, so it may be used in recirculating parts washers and similar units.

USES AND DIRECTIONS

Begin with a 4% (by weight) solution of CROSSLINK Latex Detergent. Add Emulsi-Fire SB at the rate of 1 gallon for every 10 gallons of CrossLink solution. Mix thoroughly and then heat vat to approximately 190°F. Required solution strength will vary depending on actual operating temperature, water hardness, and soil load. Sodium Metasilicate (Anhydrous) may be substituted for Crosslink.
