Bleach is usually delivered in a very high concentration, and as such, it can be greatly diluted and still achieve a complete sanitization. In the tank cleaning world, 100 ppm of sodium hypochlorite is all that is required for effective sanitization, with 200 ppm as the upper end of the range allowed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
